New museums were created since 1997, in order to
show the visitors, in a modern way, museological
pieces on a small scale.
Costume Museum
Opened since 1st June 1997, this museum exhibits ca. 300 clothing pieces in miniature, representing the costume evolution along the centuries, Portuguese daily scenes and foreign and Portuguese historical personages.
From the simple material to the most refined lace, from the most simple cloth of the 20th century to the most sophisticated one of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, all of these hand-made works were offered around the year 1950 to Portugal dos Pequenitos.
Naval Museum
Opened on the 1st June 1998, it exhibits reproductions, on a small scale, of boats and ships, constructed in the Mondego Naval Yard, Figueira da Foz, and later on offered to Portugal dos Pequenitos.
Here we can see fishing-boats, cargo-boats, frigates, war-ships and naval equipments.
Furniture Museum
Open since 8th June 2000, it shows, in miniature, pieces of furniture in cabinet-maker’s wood, such as desks, chests of drawers, beds and other several pieces, some of them with inlaid works in exotic wood such as satin-wood, kingwood and ironwood.
The most part of the pieces of furniture are in Portuguese style – D. Jose and D. Maria.
